| instruction | a starry holiday night | first annual origami star class

The first annual origami star workshop hosted by the Foothills Arts Center left participants with a handful of homemade ornaments and hearts full of holiday cheer.

The two-hour class included homemade cookies and a beverage of choice, a brief history of the art of screenprinting Japanese Chiyogami papers, and practice instruction using large handmade papers. Students then enjoyed choosing from the hundreds of colors and patterns available as they created their own stars to use as ornaments, gift bows, or garlands, and had the opportunity to purchase materials at-cost to continue making the tiny sculptures in their home studios.

All proceeds benefitted the development of the Foothills Arts Center. We look forward to hosting this event again during the next holiday season, and we hope you’ll join us!
