Doris Petersham, a long-time supporter of Foothills Arts Council, passed away on Oct. 1. She served several terms on the FAC board of directors and was a past vice-president. She left her mark on many aspects of the arts council’s mission. Following is a remembrance of Doris by her friend Bill Colvard.

There's just something about October. Maybe it's the way golden-hued days give way to star-filled nights, or the chill in the air and crunch of crisp leaves underfoot. Perhaps it's the scent of baking spices or the dappled sunlight that reminds us that there is a magic to this season that gives us the most abundant beauty while demanding the least from us in return.

The Foothills Arts Center is delighted to welcome our new Assistant Director, Sydney Sieviec.
Sydney is a native of Hillsville, Virginia. She graduated summa cum laude from Radford University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Art, and was honored as the outstanding graduate of her class.
